The Biological Sciences Greenhouse contains a diverse reference collection of plants for research and education. Part of the collection, in the front of the facility, is open to the public. The rest of the Greenhouse is devoted to experiments by graduate students and faculty. The plant teaching collections are used by classes in general biology, plant anatomy, systematics, physiology, genetics, and ecology. This facility exchanges material with other institutions worldwide, conserves rare and endangered plants, and serves as a genetic repository.
